Devlog #1

Hello, this is the first post in the series of devlogs (development updates) for an indie video game. We intend to keep posting them regularly, so if you’re interested, please stay in touch.

We are working on a new video game. It doesn’t have a set title yet but the works are already in progress. It’s going to be a shooter game with pixel art graphics set in space. To spice it up a little bit, we want to include a strategy element in it. Classic space shooter games are exciting everyone loves them but there’s always a possibility to add a new twist on a well-known model. Strategy games offer so many possibilities that we definitely want to include those kinds of elements into the game. The exact mechanics are not settled yet, but think of an option to manage a fleet of spaceships.

The main target platform is desktop (Windows). However, we’ll see about releasing it to other platforms as an option, depending interest and on how much work may be involved in that.

If you’re interested in the technical aspect, here it is. We’re using MonoGame framework and C# language. Why not Unity? We prefer smaller frameworks where we can control everything using code without extensive UI and configuration.
